Ogun Police Nab Suspect With Human Body Parts, Probe Alleged Ritual Network

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 43-year-old man, Idowu Ashafa, after he was allegedly found in possession of dismembered human body parts suspected to be intended for ritual activities.
Global Mirror News gathered that the suspect was apprehended in the early hours of Friday in the Igbesa area during a routine patrol by Officers attached to the division. The operation was led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Solotan K. Owolabi, who reportedly acted on suspicion after the man was seen carrying a bag under questionable circumstances.
Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, disclosed that a search conducted on the suspect led to the discovery of a freshly severed human head, two human palms, and other body parts concealed in a nylon bag.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect allegedly exhumed the remains from a grave at Ido Itekun Village within the Igbesa community. Investigators believe the body parts may have been intended for ritual-related purposes, as Security Agencies continue to intensify efforts to curb such criminal practices across Ogun State.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is said to be cooperating with investigators. Authorities noted that ongoing inquiries are aimed at uncovering possible accomplices and determining whether the incident is linked to a broader network involved in ritual activities.
