Gov. Abiodun Celebrates Wife at 60, Applauds Her Compassion, Selfless Service

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has paid glowing tribute to his wife, the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, describing her as a compassionate, humble, and selfless woman whose life has been dedicated to serving humanity as she marked her 60th Birthday.
The Governor gave the tribute on Thursday during a thanksgiving service held in Lagos to celebrate the First Lady’s diamond jubilee, where he expressed gratitude to God for preserving her life and granting her the grace to attain the significant milestone.
Governor Abiodun described his wife as a dependable partner whose unwavering support, wise counsel, and commitment to their family have remained a pillar of strength throughout the years.
He also commended Mrs. Abiodun’s passion for humanitarian service, noting that her advocacy and interventions for women, children, and other vulnerable groups have positively impacted countless lives across Ogun State and beyond.
According to the governor, the First Lady’s life reflects the virtues of compassion, integrity, humility, and dedication to the common good, qualities that have earned her admiration from people within and outside the state.
“As we celebrate this remarkable milestone, I give thanks to Almighty God for His faithfulness and for preserving your life. My prayer is that He will continue to grant you sound health, divine wisdom, abundant grace, and many more fruitful years of impactful service to humanity,” Governor Abiodun prayed.
In an emotional tribute, the celebrant’s father, Professor Oladipo Oduye, expressed gratitude to God for the privilege of witnessing his daughter’s 60th birthday.
The former Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan described Mrs. Abiodun as a responsible, compassionate, and accomplished woman who has remained steadfast in upholding the values of family, excellence, and service to humanity.
He praised her unwavering commitment to touching lives and prayed for God’s continued strength and guidance for greater accomplishments.
Delivering the sermon, Pastor Ben Akabueze of the Redeemed Christian Church of God described attaining the age of 60 as a divine privilege made possible only by God’s grace.
Preaching from Psalm 90:12, the cleric likened Mrs. Abiodun to a diamond, explaining that just as the precious stone undergoes intense pressure before revealing its brilliance, the First Lady’s life journey has shaped her into a woman of remarkable character, resilience, and enduring value.
He noted that six decades of life symbolise faith, perseverance, strength, and resilience, virtues that have consistently defined Mrs. Abiodun’s devotion to God and her lifelong commitment to humanitarian service.
Pastor Akabueze urged Christians to live purposeful lives and make meaningful contributions to society, reminding them that every day presents another opportunity to build a lasting legacy.
The thanksgiving service was attended by family members, friends, political associates, senior government officials, and other well-wishers, who gathered to celebrate the First Lady’s 60th birthday and honour her enduring legacy of compassion, service, and impactful leadership.
