Hon. Balogun Inspects Key Projects Across Abeokuta South, Reaffirms Commitment to Campaign Promises

The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Olaniyi Afeez Balogun (BOA), on Friday embarked on an extensive inspection tour of completed and ongoing developmental projects across the Council Area, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering on campaign promises and improving the welfare of residents.
The inspection exercise, held on Friday, July 17, 2026, saw the Chairman, accompanied by members of the Management Team and Political Office holders, assess the level of work done on critical infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing access to potable water, healthcare, and market facilities.

Among the completed projects inspected were borehole facilities located at Isale Abetu, Saje, and Ijemo, all designed to provide residents with improved access to clean and safe drinking water.
The team also visited the uncompleted borehole project at Onikoko, where the Chairman assessed the progress of work and emphasized the need for timely completion to enable residents benefit from the project.

In continuation of the tour, Hon. Balogun inspected the ongoing construction of a steel bridge at Kugba, Abeokuta, a project expected to improve connectivity and ease movement within the Community upon completion.
The Chairman and his entourage also visited the site of the ongoing Primary Health Centre construction at Oke-Bode, Abeokuta, describing the project as a vital investment that will strengthen access to quality healthcare services for people living in the area.

The inspection team further moved to Panseke Market, where they examined lock-up shops requiring reconstruction and renovation as part of efforts to improve trading activities and create a more conducive environment for businesses.

Speaking during the tour, Hon. Balogun said the inspection was necessary to ascertain the level of completion of the various projects and ensure they are delivered for public use in line with the promises made to the people during the electioneering campaign.
According to him, his administration remains focused on executing people-oriented projects that directly impact the lives of residents, stressing that the Council will continue to monitor ongoing works to guarantee quality delivery and value for public resources.

He assured residents that all projects would receive the required attention to ensure they are completed and put into use as scheduled.
The Chairman was accompanied on the inspection by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Chief (Mrs.) Oluranti Ogunjemilusi-Ogunmokun; the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Hon. Mustapha Kodaolu; the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mrs. ‘Funmi Shoberu; other Political office holders; and Principal Career Officers of the Council.
