The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups Council has installed the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun on Public Communications, Otunba ‘Dare Odufowokan, as its Patron in recognition of his contributions to the growth of the ruling party and his commitment to grassroots mobilisation across the State.
The investiture ceremony, held on Thursday July 23, 2023 at the Segun Osoba Press Centre, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, attracted APC leaders, stakeholders, members of various support groups, and party faithful from across Ogun State, who gathered to celebrate Odufowokan’s role in promoting party unity and strengthening grassroots political structures.
Speaking during the event, the State Coordinator of the APC Support Groups Council, Hon. Lekan Shobo Shobowale, described Odufowokan as a loyal party stalwart whose dedication, strategic communication, and unwavering support have contributed significantly to the APC’s successes in Ogun State.

Shobowale noted that as the spokesperson for Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration, Odufowokan has played a pivotal role in ensuring that Government policies, programmes, and party activities are effectively communicated to residents, particularly at the grassroots.
He also praised the Governor’s aide for his commitment to democratic ideals and his consistent efforts in fostering stronger ties between the Government, the party, and the people.
According to the Council, the appointment of Odufowokan as Patron is aimed at providing leadership, mentorship, and strategic direction to the numerous APC support groups operating across the State as preparations gradually begin for future electoral contests.
The Council explained that harmonising the activities of the various support groups under a unified structure would strengthen voter mobilisation, improve campaign coordination, and eliminate duplication of efforts.
Accepting the honour, Odufowokan expressed appreciation to the APC Support Groups Council for finding him worthy of the position.
He pledged to work closely with the leadership of the Council to promote unity among all affiliated support groups while intensifying efforts to mobilise more Nigerians in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the APC.
The Governor’s aide also reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the party’s structures ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence that a united APC would record electoral victories at all levels.
“I am deeply honoured by this appointment. Our collective responsibility is to unite all support groups, consolidate our structures, and work tirelessly towards ensuring victory for the APC in future elections,” Odufowokan said.
The event featured goodwill messages from party leaders, presentation of the patronal insignia, and the official decoration of Odufowokan as Patron of the APC Support Groups Council in Ogun State.
