Tragedy as Abducted Pastor Reportedly Killed Over Delayed Ransom

A wave of grief has swept through a Christian community following the reported killing of a Nigerian Pastor, identified as Pastor Akor, by suspected kidnappers over an alleged delay in ransom payment.

The heartbreaking development was made public by Abuja-based cleric, Peter Attayi Yakubu, in a Facebook post shared on Monday, May 25, 2026.

According to Bishop Yakubu, the late Pastor was abducted by armed men and reportedly killed just three days after his captors claimed the ransom payment was delayed.

Global Mirror News gathered that Pastor Akor previously served as the Bishop’s chief usher before he later established his own Ministry after receiving what Bishop Yakubu described as a prophetic calling.

In an emotional tribute, the cleric described the deceased as a committed and faithful servant who dedicated himself to church work before launching his ministry.

“My heart is bleeding. Oh my son, Pastor Akoh. He was my chief usher. He served well and was impacted with the prophetic grace then God asked him to go start his own ministry and he is doing well,” the Bishop wrote.

He further disclosed that the late paystor had recently requested a fatherly visit to his church, which he had promised to honour in September.

“How can kidnappers kill Pastor Akoh under three days with claim that ransom delayed. Oh God, the wife is even breastfeeding a new baby,” he lamented.

The tragic incident has once again highlighted the growing insecurity and persistent cases of kidnapping-for-ransom across Nigeria, where victims are frequently abducted by criminal gangs targeting families and communities for huge payments.

As of the time of filing this report, security agencies have yet to release an official statement regarding the incident.
