Oriire Kidnap Victims’ Rescue: Gov. Abiodun Praises Tinubu, Security Agencies, Makinde

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the successful rescue of victims abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, describing the operation as a clear demonstration of the President’s determination to eradicate kidnapping and other violent crimes across Nigeria.

In a statement on Saturday, Governor Abiodun said the safe rescue of the victims vindicated President Tinubu’s assurance that the Federal Government would deploy every available resource to secure their freedom and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

The governor noted that the arrest of some of the kidnappers and the elimination of others during the operation underscores the growing hostility of the Nigerian state towards criminal elements, including kidnappers, bandits and terrorists.

According to him, the development sends a strong warning that under President Tinubu’s leadership, there will be no sanctuary for individuals involved in violent crimes.

“This operation has demonstrated that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, there will be no safe haven for criminal elements. It is a clear signal that those who choose the path of kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes will be relentlessly pursued, apprehended or neutralised in accordance with the law,” the governor stated.

Abiodun commended the gallantry, professionalism and courage displayed by the security agencies involved in the rescue mission. He specifically praised the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), local intelligence operatives and other security personnel for their sacrifices and unwavering commitment to safeguarding innocent Nigerians.

He also applauded Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for maintaining close collaboration with the Federal Government and security agencies throughout the victims’ ordeal, noting that the synergy among all stakeholders played a crucial role in the successful outcome of the operation.

The Ogun governor further stated that the rescue mission highlights the effectiveness of the renewed security framework being implemented by the Federal Government in partnership with state governments and security institutions nationwide.

He urged Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible intelligence capable of preventing criminal activities and helping law enforcement agencies respond swiftly to threats.

Abiodun reaffirmed Ogun State’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Federal Government, neighbouring states and security agencies to ensure that criminal elements find no refuge within the Southwest region.

He congratulated President Tinubu, Governor Makinde, the leadership of the nation’s security agencies and all officers who participated in the operation, expressing optimism that the successful rescue would further boost efforts to make Nigeria safer for law-abiding citizens and increasingly unbearable for kidnappers, bandits and other criminal elements.
