OGUN SPEAKER CAUTIONS RESIDENTS AGAINST DUMPING REFUSE ON ROAD MEDIAN, DEMANDS WAITING SHED FOR JAMB CANDIDATES

The Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide has cautioned residents especially those living along Idi-Aba road, Abeokuta and other parts of the State to desist from the causing air pollution through indiscriminate dumping of refuse on road median as offenders will be arrested and prosecuted.

The Speaker, who gave the warning during the plenary at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta also called on the State Ministry of Works and Infrastructure as well as Environment to improve on the maintenance of road medians across the State to be free of weed.

He also urged the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to adopt a more humane and effective arrangements in managing candidates taking turn to sit for the examination.

Elemide expressed concern on the exposure of candidates to harsh weather conditions, as they were made to stand in open spaces, which he said posed risks to their health and wellbeing.

He sought the provision of a waiting shed for candidates outside examination hall waiting for their schedule time for the examination to protect them from harsh weather conditions including rains during examination.
