OGHA HOLDS SPECIAL PLENARY IN HONOUR OF LATE FORMER MEMBER HON. KUYORO

Members of the Ogun State House of Assembly today joined their fourth Legislature counterparts in holding a special plenary session in honour of the late Hon. Julius Oladehinde Kuyoro, who represented Odeda State Constituency, following Nigeria’s return to democratic rule in 1999.
Presiding over the session, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, described the late Kuyoro as a senior colleague and a true icon of democracy, who made a lasting impact through dedicated service to his people and the development of the State.
He noted that the late Kuyoro, who was elected under APP but passed away in December 2025 at the age of 91, lived a life of commitment to public service; while leaving behind a legacy that continued to inspire future generations.
The Speaker further said the late lawmaker, who also served as Vice Chairman and party leader in Odeda Local Government was a legislator who embodied purposeful leadership, grassroots development and community empowerment.
According to him, Kuyoro was a mentor and builder of men who encouraged many to embrace public service with humility and dignity; emphasizing that the life of the deceased reflected that leadership is defined not by position but by impact and the ability to inspire selfless service.
He urged lawmakers to draw lessons from his exemplary life by contributing meaningfully to their constituencies and upholding legislative excellence.
In their separate tributes, the Speaker of the fourth Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muyiwa Oladipo, alongside his former co-lawmakers including Honourables Samuel Olubunmi Dada, the then Majority Leader Bode Adeaga, Olusola Bankole, Ismaila Sansa, Olusegun Bolanle Gbeleyi and Fasiu Bakenne, described the late Kuyoro as a committed family man, a stabilizer, peace maker and a community-oriented leader; while recalling his jovial nature and his ability to relate freely with people irrespective of age or status.
They also commended his ability to attract meaningful projects to his constituency despite being in the minority.
Speaking on behalf of the family, the deceased son, Mr. Patrick Kuyoro, described the deceased as a loving, calm, and caring father, who upheld integrity and dignity in all aspects of life.
In his vote of thanks, another son of the deceased, Mr. Oluwaseun Kuyoro, appreciated the Assembly for the honour accorded their late father and grandfather through the special plenary session.
