JAMB Releases UTME Results for April 16 Candidates, Warns Against Result Manipulation

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for candidates who sat the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on Thursday, April 16.
In a statement issued on Friday by its spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, the Board confirmed that a total of 632,788 results are now available for candidates to access.
Global Mirror News gathered that candidates can check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to either 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number registered for the examination. JAMB noted that, for now, candidates can only view their results, as printing will be enabled at a later stage.
The Board also issued a stern warning against the falsification or manipulation of result messages obtained through official channels. It stressed that any attempt to alter scores for deceptive purposes constitutes a criminal offence.
JAMB revealed that enforcement actions are already underway, disclosing that two candidates and one parent have been taken into custody for allegedly engaging in result falsification using artificial intelligence and other digital methods. It added that anyone found guilty would face the full weight of the law.
Furthermore, the Board assured candidates and stakeholders that the UTME process remains ongoing, with additional results to be released in batches as marking and verification continue.
Global Mirror News reports that the examination body is intensifying efforts to maintain the integrity and credibility of the UTME, amid rising concerns over digital manipulation and examination malpractice.
