Odeda Youth Leaders Declare Unwavering Support for Speaker Elemide’s Return Ahead of 2027 Elections

Youth leaders across all ten wards in Odeda State Constituency of Ogun State have declared total and unwavering support for the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, backing his return ahead of the 2027 general election.

Global Mirror News gathered that the endorsement comes amid reported moves by some political interests to deny the Speaker the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for re-election.

The Secretary to the Odeda Local Government, Adebayo Oyekunle, led the solidarity gathering held on Wednesday April 15 in Odeda town, where youth representatives from Odeda Ward 1, Obada Ward 2, Olodo Ward 3, Alagbagba Ward 4, Ilugun Ward 5, Osiele Ward 6, Obantoko Ward 7, Alabata Ward 8, Obete Ward 9, and Opeji Ward 10 unanimously expressed confidence in Elemide’s leadership.

Speaking during the meeting, the youth leaders described Elemide as a grassroots politician whose tenure as Speaker and representative of Odeda State Constituency has delivered visible development across communities.

They listed several projects facilitated by the lawmaker, including rural electrification projects covering over 15 villages in Obantoko Ward, rehabilitation of a primary school and a Primary Healthcare Centres in Alabata Ward, as well as rural road rehabilitation, provision of potable water, and installation of solar-powered infrastructure across various wards.

In his remarks, Oyekunle emphasised the need for unity among stakeholders in the constituency, urging them to support Elemide in securing the APC ticket and winning the 2027 election. He cautioned against efforts to block the Speaker’s return, stressing that his legislative experience and performance record remain critical to the continued growth of Odeda.

“Odeda State Constituency cannot afford to lose a leader with proven capacity and commitment. Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide has demonstrated quality representation, and his return will ensure sustained development,” he said.

Also speaking, youth leaders including Sunday Osinbanjo (Obantoko Ward), Oluwaseyi (Odeda Ward), Saheed Olorunmajesise (Alabata Ward), Ibrahim Olayinka (Olodo Ward), and Magbadelo Sunday (Orile-Ilugun Ward) pledged massive support for Elemide’s re-election.

They called on all political stakeholders and residents to work collectively in the interest of the constituency by ensuring the Speaker’s return, noting that his leadership has brought significant benefits through capital projects and youth empowerment initiatives.

Leaders of the APC in Odeda also joined the youths in mobilising support for Elemide, describing him as an exceptional politician whose contributions have positively impacted the socio-economic development of the constituency.
