N1bn War Chest Unleashed: Yayi Progressive Movement Rolls Out 27 Campaign Buses, Targets Landslide for Tinubu, Adeola in 2027

A major political push has begun in Ogun State as the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM) unveiled a massive ₦1 billion campaign fund alongside 27 branded buses to drive grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The group, which formally launched its activities at the Ake Palace Pavilion in Abeokuta, declared full backing for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship hopeful, Senator Solomon Adeola, while also pledging to deliver overwhelming support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Convener of the movement, Armstrong Akintunde, said the financial donation and campaign vehicles would significantly boost logistics, outreach, and voter engagement across the State’s Wards and Local Governments.
According to him, the initiative signals a coordinated effort to secure electoral dominance for the APC in Ogun State and across the South-West.
“This is beyond personal ambition; it is about safeguarding the future of Ogun State,” Akintunde stated. “Senator Adeola represents capacity, continuity, and tested leadership. Our commitment reflects confidence in his vision and the direction of our party.”
At the event, Akintunde also inaugurated the State executive council of YPM, led by Hon. Olusegun Kaka, a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, charging them with driving mobilisation efforts to the grassroots.
He expressed strong confidence that Ogun State would produce the highest number of votes in the South-West for President Tinubu in 2027, dismissing opposition alliances as incapable of disrupting the APC’s momentum.
“Our leader has given us a clear directive, and we are ready. With the unity among party leaders and our strategic mobilisation, victory is assured,” he added.
The convener further commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his administration’s infrastructural strides and maintenance of peace, noting that supporting Adeola would ensure continuity of development in the State.

Akintunde traced the evolution of the movement from earlier political structures such as DACA and Omoluabi, describing its current form as a culmination of years of grassroots organisation and political consolidation.
In his remarks, the group’s coordinator, Hon. Olusegun Kaka, described the inauguration as a symbol of unity and shared purpose among members, urging them to remain committed to the movement’s objectives.
“This marks the beginning of a renewed drive for progress, unity, and purposeful leadership in Ogun State,” Kaka said.
The high-profile event drew notable political figures and stakeholders, including former Deputy Governor Senator Adegbenga Kaka, Senator Gbenga Obadara, Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, Chief Waliu Taiwo, Hon. Kehinde Odeneye, and businessman Ibrahim Egungbohun Dende.
With its financial muscle and mobilisation strategy now on display, the Yayi Progressives Movement appears set to play a pivotal role in shaping Ogun State’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
