HON. BALOGUN DONATES DESKS, CHAIRS, EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS TO PRIMARY SCHOOL PUPILS

The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Olaniyi Afeez Balogun , on Wednesday, 17th June 2026, donated desks, chairs, and assorted educational materials to primary school pupils across thirteen public schools in the council area to improve learning conditions and support basic education.

The presentation at Nawair-ud-deen Nursery and Primary School, Isale Ijeun, comprised over 50 sets of twin desks and chairs, exercise books, pencils and pencil cases for distribution to:

  1. St. Peter Claver’s Nursery and Primary School, Itesi Ake I
  2. St. Peter Claver’s Nursery and Primary School, Itesi Ake II
  3. Ebenezer Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Oke Saje Abeokuta
  4. St. Peter Claver’s (RCM) Nursery and Primary School, Oke-Efon Abeokuta
  5. Nawair-ud-deen Nursery and Primary School, Isale Ijeun Abeokuta
  6. U.B.F Model Nursery and Primary School, Leme Abeokuta
  7. O.L.A Nursery and Primary School,Oke ilewo
  8. Saint Paul Nursery and Primary School I, Igbore.
  9. Saint Paul Nursery and Primary School II, Igbore.
  10. Anglican Christ Nursery Primary School, Oke Igbore
  11. Itesi Methodist Nursery and Primary School, I Adatan
  12. Itesi Methodist Nursery and Primary School II, Adatan.
  13. ASLG Nursery and Primary School , Ijemo.

Speaking during the presentation, Hon. Balogun said the intervention was part of his administration’s commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for children.

The Chairman stated that, Education remains the foundation of any society. If our children must compete globally, they must learn in comfort and with the right tools, as this is not a privilege, but their right.

He disclosed that the gesture followed an inspection tour which revealed that many pupils were sitting on bare floors or using broken furniture.

The Head Teacher of Nawair-ud-deen Nursery and Primary School, Isale Ijeun, Mrs Somefun Oluwatoyin Taiwo, lauded the chairman for the support, noting that the new desks would reduce overcrowding and improve classroom concentration.

In her own part, Mrs. Akinseyinde Doyinsola Arinola, the Head Teacher of Ebenezer Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Oke Saje, described the donation as a morale booster for our pupils and teachers. We are grateful to the Chairman for prioritizing education.

Similarly, Mrs. Dasaolu Rose, the Head Teacher of St. Peter Claver’s (RCM) Nursery and Primary School, Oke-Efon, commended the council Boss, saying the materials would go a long way in easing teaching and learning in our classrooms.

Hon. Balogun therefore pledged continued intervention in school infrastructure and learning materials, urging parents and community leaders to protect the items and promote school enrollment.
