JUNE 12: OYETOLA CALLS FOR PEACE, PATRIOTISM, SHARED RESPONSIBILITY IN NATION BUILDING

The Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Dr. Babatunde Oyetola Diya, has extended warm felicitations to Nigerians and the entire people of Odogbolu Local Government Area as the nation commemorates Democracy Day.
Dr. Diya described June 12 as a historic milestone that reflects the courage, sacrifices, and determination of Nigerians in their quest for democratic governance, justice, and national development.
He paid tribute to the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola (GCFR), acknowledging his enduring legacy and invaluable contributions to the advancement of democracy in Nigeria.
The Chairman stressed the importance of unity, active citizenship, and cooperation among residents, noting that meaningful progress can only be achieved in an atmosphere of peace and security. He urged citizens to remain vigilant and continue supporting security agencies in the collective effort to address insecurity and protect democratic values.
Dr. Diya also appreciated the people of Odogbolu for their unwavering support and commitment to the growth and development of the Local Government, encouraging them to remain steadfast in promoting harmony, progress, and community development.
According to him, “Democracy thrives when citizens and government work together for the common good. Let us continue to uphold the values of peace, unity, and patriotism as we build a better future for our nation.”
He wished all Nigerians a peaceful and memorable Democracy Day celebration and prayed for continued progress, stability, and prosperity across the country.
