Former OGTV Staff Kitan Oyesiku Killed by Gunmen in Abeokuta

A former staff member of Ogun State Television (OGTV), Mrs. Kitan Oyesiku, popularly known as Aunty Kitan, has been reportedly killed by unidentified gunmen at her residence in the Kobape area of Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The incident was said to have occurred in the early hours of Sunday June 21 after the attackers reportedly invaded her home and carried out the fatal attack.

The killing has thrown family members, neighbours, former colleagues and residents of the area into mourning, as details surrounding the attack remain unclear.

The motive behind the incident has not been established, while the identities of the assailants are yet to be known. Security agencies are expected to begin investigations to identify and apprehend those responsible.

Mrs. Oyesiku was widely known within Ogun media circles following her years of service at Ogun State Television before her retirement.

As of the time of filing this report, the Ogun State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
