2027: My Life Feels Threatened, Government Is Frustrating Everything I Do – Peter Obi Alleges

The Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Peter Obi, has alleged that his life is under threat and accused the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of deliberately frustrating his activities and targeting opposition figures.
Speaking during an interview on a podcast hosted by media personality and filmmaker, Chude Jideonwo, Obi claimed that the pressure and actions against him have intensified to the point where he fears for his safety.
According to the former Governor of Anambra State, the current political climate has made it increasingly difficult for him to function normally, alleging that virtually everything he does is being obstructed.
“The way they are going now, I might not be alive. I’m telling you. Every single thing I do for a living, this Government is frustrating it. Deliberately so,” Obi said during the interview.
He further alleged that there is a possibility that those in power could take advantage of any opportunity to further endanger him, stressing that he experiences frustration daily because many actions that should ordinarily be considered normal are no longer so in the current environment.
Obi maintained that the alleged attacks are not always direct but are evident in what he described as a pattern of actions aimed at undermining him and other opposition figures.
“The Government is attacking everybody in opposition. I am being attacked personally. Even to provide me with things I am entitled to, not at all,” he said.
The former Presidential candidate also claimed that many Nigerians have become reluctant to associate with him due to fears of being victimised by the government of the day.
His comments come amid increasing political conversations ahead of the 2027 general elections, with opposition leaders raising concerns over the political environment and the treatment of dissenting voices in the Country.
