Lagos Police Rescue 23-Year-Old Found Unconscious After Theft Allegation

Police operatives in Lagos State have rescued a 23-year-old man who was found unconscious in the Magodo area after he allegedly ingested an insecticide following an accusation of theft.

The incident was reported at the Isheri Police Division on June 21, 2026, by Aminat Odofin, a resident of No. 24 Nojim Nije Street, Magodo.

Odofin reportedly told Police that she discovered the young man, identified as Michael Bliss, unconscious inside a room in the house at about 8:40 a.m.

According to preliminary findings, Bliss had allegedly been confronted over a theft allegation before he was found in the distressing condition. Odofin stated that he had been under her care since he was seven years old.

Following the report, detectives from the Isheri Police Division visited the residence and documented relevant evidence as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident.

The 23-year-old was immediately rushed to Spark View Hospital in Magodo, where he received urgent medical attention.

Police sources said Bliss was responding to treatment and remained under protective custody while investigations continued.

Authorities are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident, including the theft allegation that reportedly preceded it.
