Fresh Bloodshed in Plateau: Gunmen Kill Five in Night Attack

A renewed wave of violence has claimed the lives of five people in Fan District, located in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State, deepening fears among residents over growing insecurity in the region.
Global Mirror News gathered that the tragic incident occurred on Sunday night, May 3, 2026, when suspected gunmen reportedly ambushed unsuspecting victims returning to their homes.
According to a local resident, Bot James, the attackers struck around 9 p.m., opening fire indiscriminately.

“Four persons were killed on the spot, while another victim later died in the hospital,” he recounted.

Reacting to the development, the Publicity Secretary of Berom Youth Moulders, Rwang Tengwong, condemned the killings, describing the incident as both unfortunate and alarming.
