Engr. Olanike Ogunbona to Commission Anchor Pharmacy as Ogun Progressive CICS Expands Healthcare Investment
Engr. Olanike Morenike Ogunbona, FNSE, Permanent Secretary of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission (LGSC), will officially launch and Commission Anchor Pharmacy and Store on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in Abeokuta, marking another major healthcare investment by the Ogun State Progressive Cooperative Investment and Credit Society (Ogun State Progressive CICS) aimed at improving access to quality pharmaceutical services in Ogun State.
Global Mirror News gathered that the Commissioning ceremony is scheduled to be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Pharmacy’s premises located at Ogun State Progressive Cooperative Investment and Credit Society (Ogun State Progressive CICS) House, Ijemo-Agbadu Road, Wasimi, Ake, Abeokuta
Anchor Pharmacy and Store is a private Healthcare Investment established in partnership with the Ogun State Progressive Cooperative Investment and Credit Society (Ogun State Progressive CICS). The initiative is designed to provide affordable, quality and reliable pharmaceutical services to cooperative members and the wider public while promoting healthier communities across the State.
The project is being spearheaded under the leadership of Quadri Wasiu, Chief Executive Officer and Union President of Ogun State Progressive CICS, whose administration has continued to champion strategic investments aimed at improving the welfare of cooperative members through sustainable development initiatives.
The Pharmacy is under the professional supervision of Pharmacist Akinsete Akintunde Charles, Director of Pharmacy, who will oversee the delivery of pharmaceutical services in line with industry best practices.
As the Special Guest of Honour and Launcher, Engr. Ogunbona, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE), is expected to officially commission the facility, an event that underscores the cooperative’s commitment to expanding quality healthcare delivery through strategic partnerships and community-focused investments.
According to the management, the establishment of Anchor Pharmacy and Store represents a significant milestone in the cooperative’s vision of making quality healthcare products and pharmaceutical services more accessible to residents of Abeokuta and neighbouring communities.
The Pharmacy will offer genuine prescription and over-the-counter medicines, premium healthcare and wellness products, professional pharmaceutical counselling, medication management services, medical consumables and other healthcare essentials.
Management said the facility is committed to delivering safe, effective and affordable pharmaceutical services with exceptional customer care, professionalism and integrity.
Members of Ogun State Progressive CICS, healthcare professionals, business associates, friends and the general public have been invited to witness the commissioning ceremony and celebrate what is described as a new benchmark in community healthcare delivery in Ogun State.
