UNIMED Registrar, Ezekiel Imole Adeniran, Assassinated in Ondo

The University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED) in Ondo State is in mourning following the assassination of its Registrar, Mr. Ezekiel Imole Adeniran. His lifeless body was discovered in his residence in Ondo town on Thursday morning, July 17, 2025.

According to the Ondo State Police Command, preliminary investigations indicate that two unidentified individuals reportedly emerged from a nearby bush and allegedly forced a substance into the victim’s mouth. The exact location of the incident is still being verified.

The University Management  described Mr. Adeniran’s death as devastating and shocking. In a statement, the Head of Media and Protocol, Mr. Isaac Oluyi, said, “The devastating news has thrown the University into mourning. He was still at his duty post on Monday, July 14, 2025. As of now, the cause of his death remains unknown.”

The Ondo State Police Command is leading the investigation into Mr. Adeniran’s assassination. The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Olayinka Ayanlade, assured the public that the command is committed to unraveling the truth behind the incident and bringing the perpetrators to justice. Anyone with relevant information is urged to come forward and assist the police.

The UNIMED community is in shock, with tributes pouring in from staff, students, and stakeholders across the state.
