Truck Crashes Into Gombe Government House Gate, Causes Extensive Damage

The incident occurred at about 12:55 p.m. and involved a section of the gate reportedly constructed as part of ongoing renovation works under Governor Muhammadu Yahaya. The facility is yet to be officially commissioned.

Eyewitnesses told Global Mirror News that the truck appeared to have lost control moments before veering off the road and crashing into the gate.

A trader, Musa Abdullahi, who witnessed the incident from across the road, said the vehicle was moving at speed before the driver suddenly lost control.

“I was standing across the road when I saw the truck approaching fast. Suddenly, the driver seemed to lose control, and the vehicle veered off and hit the gate,” he said.

Another eyewitness, a commercial motorcyclist identified as Ibrahim Sadiq, told Global Mirror News that the impact could have resulted in casualties if pedestrians had been nearby.

“It happened very fast. People started running when they saw the truck coming. Thankfully, no one was injured,” he said.

No casualties were recorded in the incident, though the extent of structural damage is believed to be significant. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the cause of the crash or the estimated cost of repairs.
