Troops Rescue Two Boys Fleeing Suspected Terrorist Hideout in Borno

Troops of the 25 Brigade stationed at the Forward Operating Base, Azir, have rescued two teenage boys who reportedly escaped from a suspected terrorist camp in Borno State.
Global Mirror News gathered that the boys were discovered in Azir Community in Damboa Local Government Area at about 10:00 a.m. on April 1, 2026.
According to security sources, the village head of Azir alerted troops after noticing the arrival of the two minors under suspicious circumstances. Soldiers were immediately deployed to the area, where the boys were taken into custody and moved to the Forward Operating Base in Azir for questioning.
The minors were identified as Abuna Yammadu Kala and Abulkaka Yammadu Kala.
During preliminary interrogation, the boys reportedly told security personnel that they had recently escaped from a suspected terrorist camp in Dusula after enduring severe hardship and living in fear.
Global Mirror News further gathered that the children said they fled the camp because of the harsh conditions and concerns for their safety.
Military authorities have since transferred the two minors for profiling and other necessary procedures.
