Troops Intercept 18 Suspected Boko Haram Couriers, Disrupt Logistics Network in Borno

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested 18 individuals suspected of acting as logistics couriers for Boko Haram insurgents in Borno State, in what security officials describe as a significant disruption of a terror support network in Nigeria’s North-East.

According to a statement obtained by Global Mirror News on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the suspects were intercepted along the Gubio–Gudumbali axis while allegedly transporting supplies intended for terrorist elements operating within the region.

Military sources cited preliminary findings indicating that the arrested individuals were part of a broader civilian-linked supply chain that has continued to sustain insurgent operations. The development underscores growing concerns about the involvement of non-combatants in aiding extremist groups.

Further insights revealed that many of the suspects may have been driven into the illicit network by economic hardship, highlighting how insurgent groups exploit vulnerable populations to maintain their logistics pipelines.

The Nigerian Army, in its statement, issued a strong warning against any form of collaboration with terrorist organisations, stressing that providing logistics, intelligence, or material support constitutes a grave threat to national security and carries severe legal consequences.

Global Mirror News gathered that the military also emphasized the critical role of community cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts. Residents in affected areas were urged to remain vigilant, report suspicious movements, and reject inducements from criminal elements.

Security authorities further noted that beyond military operations, sustainable peace in the region will depend on broader socio-economic interventions. Initiatives focused on empowerment, skills acquisition, and improved access to basic services were identified as key strategies to reduce the vulnerability of at-risk populations.

The Army reaffirmed its commitment to protecting civilians and restoring stability, while calling for a unified national approach that combines security enforcement with long-term development and community engagement.
