Tragic Car Crash Claims Lives of Liverpool Star Diogo Jota and Brother

A devastating car accident on the A-52 motorway in Zamora, Spain, has claimed the lives of Liverpool forward Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva. The incident occurred on July 3, 2025, at approximately 12:30 a.m. local time.

The brothers were traveling in a Lamborghini Huracán when the accident happened.

According to preliminary investigations by the Spanish Guardia Civil, a tire blowout occurred while the vehicle was overtaking another car at high speed, exceeding 200 km/h (124 mph).

The tire burst caused the driver to lose control, sending the car veering off the road, flipping over, and catching fire.

Emergency services arrived within 10  minutes but found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

Despite rapid response efforts, both Diogo Jota and André Silva were pronounced dead at the scene due to fatal trauma prior to the fire.

The investigation is ongoing, with forensic tests pending to confirm the exact cause of the tire failure.

Authorities have not ruled out any possibilities, including manufacturing defects or road debris, but currently, there’s no indication of criminal liability.
