TRAGEDY STRIKES: Babcock University Student Takes Own Life

A devastating incident has shaken the Babcock University Community as a 200-level Social Work student, Verishima Unokyur, took his own life at his parent’s home in Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos State.
According to reports, Verishima, 19, hanged himself with his tie. Before his tragic death, he sent a cryptic text message to his best friend, wishing him a happy new year and ending with “See you in heaven”.
The student’s family had experienced a significant loss 15 years ago with the passing of his father. His mother, a top employee of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, had been caring for Verishima and his younger brother.
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the incident and stated that the case is under investigation. Babcock University has also confirmed Verishima’s studentship, describing him as an easy-going and obedient student.
