Tinubu Honours Service Chiefs with Fresh Ranks, Reaffirms Confidence in Armed Forces

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on Thursday, decorated the Nation’s Service Chiefs with their new ranks, affirming his confidence in their capacity to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture and restore lasting peace across the Country.

The colourful investiture ceremony, held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, witnessed the presence of top Government Officials, Senior Military Officers, and family members of the Honourees.

Those decorated include the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa; Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar.

In his address, President Tinubu commended the Service Chiefs for their dedication, professionalism, and unwavering loyalty to the Country since assuming office.

He urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by intensifying efforts against insurgency, banditry, oil theft, and other security challenges confronting the Nation.

“Your elevation is not just a reward for past efforts but a renewed call to duty. Nigerians look to you to safeguard lives and defend the unity of this Country. You must work together as one team with courage, vision, and discipline,” the President said.

Responding on behalf of the newly decorated officers, General Musa expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the honour and pledged the commitment of the armed forces to uphold national integrity and ensure peace and stability in every region of the Federation.

He assured Nigerians that the Military remains resolute in combating all forms of insecurity, adding that synergy among the armed services will be strengthened under the current leadership.

The ceremony marks another milestone in the Tinubu administration’s drive to reposition the Nigerian military for greater efficiency, professionalism, and accountability in the defence of the Nation.
