Teenager Arrested After High-Speed Rampage Injures Three Police Officers, Drugs Recovered
Global Mirror News gathered that Police Authorities in Edo State have arrested a 19-year-old man following a dangerous incident in Benin City that left three Police Officers injured and led to the seizure of suspected illicit drugs.
According to the Nigeria Police Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the suspect, identified as Nsikak Okon, was driving a heavily tinted vehicle without registration plates when Officers first spotted him on a public roadway.
Global Mirror News reports that Okon sped past the Officers recklessly and later returned along the same route, striking three Officers in the process. Two have been released from medical care, while one remains hospitalized.
Global Mirror News also gathered that the chase continued as Okon allegedly collided with multiple vehicles before being intercepted and restrained by responding Officers.
A search of his car revealed substances suspected to be hard drugs. CSP Hundeyin noted on social media that the teenager faces multiple charges, including reckless driving and drug possession, as further investigations continue.
The Police have urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement in maintaining safety on the roads, emphasizing the severe consequences of such reckless behavior.
