Teen Killed in Ondo as Police Arrest Suspect Over Fatal Stabbing

Police authorities in Ondo State have arrested a suspect, identified as Johnson Daniel, in connection with the alleged killing of an 18-year-old boy, Ariyo Amos Timilehin, following a violent altercation in Owo, Owo Local Government Area of the state.
According to information gathered by Global Mirror, the tragic incident occurred on March 6, 2026, when an argument between the two reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation that turned deadly.
The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the development in a statement, noting that preliminary investigations indicate the victim was stabbed during the dispute.
Jimoh explained that the victim was immediately rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Owo for urgent medical attention after the attack. However, medical personnel on duty later confirmed that he was brought in dead.
“The command has confirmed the arrest of a suspect in connection with the alleged murder of Ariyo Amos Timilehin following a violent altercation in Owo on March 6, 2026,” the police spokesperson stated.
He further disclosed that detectives from the command visited the scene of the incident shortly after the report was received and recovered the knife believed to have been used in the attack.
The suspect was subsequently taken into custody and is currently assisting investigators with further inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Jimoh added that the case has now been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for detailed investigation and possible prosecution.
The Police assured the public that justice would be pursued while urging residents to avoid violent confrontations and report disputes to appropriate authorities.
