Super Falcons Storm Semifinals with 5-0 Rout of Zambia

he Super Falcons of Nigeria have qualified for the semifinals of the ongoing WAFCON tournament, thrashing Zambia’s Copper Queens 5-0 in the quarterfinals. The dominant display in Casablanca showcased the team’s exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination.

The Super Falcons got off to a flying start, with Osinachi Ohale heading in Esther Okoronkwo’s free-kick in the 2nd minute. Okoronkwo doubled the lead soon after, courtesy of Rasheedat Ajibade’s assist. Chinwendu Ihezuo made it 3-0 at halftime with a well-taken goal in the 45th minute.

Despite Zambia’s attempts to mount a comeback, the Super Falcons’ defense held firm. Oluwatosin Demehin scored the fourth goal with a clinical header, and Folashade Ijamilusi sealed the win with a tap-in from Ajibade’s cross.

The Super Falcons remain unbeaten and without conceding a goal in the tournament, a testament to their strong defense and teamwork. They will now await the winner of the South Africa-Senegal match in the semifinals, with their sights set on claiming their 19th title.
