Son Allegedly Burns Father to Death

A tragic incident has thrown residents of Kazaure Local Government Area of Jigawa State into mourning after a man, identified as Nuhu Bakanike, reportedly died after he was allegedly set ablaze by his own son.
Global Mirror News gathered that the shocking incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, April 1, 2026, leaving members of the community stunned and struggling to come to terms with the development.
According to information available, the suspect, identified as Kabiru, allegedly poured petrol on his father before setting him on fire with a box of matches during an altercation at their residence.
The victim reportedly sustained severe burns in the attack and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. However, despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life, he later died while receiving treatment.
The incident has sparked outrage and sadness across Kazaure, with residents describing the development as one of the most disturbing family-related tragedies recorded in the area in recent times.
