Regional Supervisor VSE Ogunmefun Charges CCC Columbus Cathedral on Unity, Righteousness

The Regional Supervisor of the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) USA National Diocese Region F, Venerable Superior Evangelist (VSE) Remi Ogunmefun, has called on members of CCC Columbus Cathedral, Columbus, Ohio, to embrace spiritual renewal, unity, and unwavering faithfulness in their Christian walk.

VSE Ogunmefun made the call during a Pastoral visit to the parish on Sunday, February 22, 2026, where he delivered a sermon centered on Numbers 16:41–50 and Matthew 9:32–34. The service featured vibrant worship, testimonies, and fervent prayers, drawing parishioners into what many described as a spiritually uplifting encounter.
Preaching from the Book of Numbers, the Regional Supervisor reflected on the Biblical account of the Israelites murmuring against Moses and Aaron, which resulted in a plague among them. He underscored the dangers of rebellion, disunity, and speaking against those divinely appointed for leadership.
Drawing lessons from Numbers 16:41–50, Ogunmefun highlighted the significance of obedience, unity, and intercessory prayer. He referenced how Aaron stood “between the living and the dead” with incense, symbolizing the power of standing in the gap through prayer and repentance.
He cautioned against fighting individuals whom God has called and set apart, noting that divine backing makes such battles perilous. Citing Deuteronomy 28 from verse 15, he warned of the consequences of opposing God’s people and urged members to live righteously so as to remain under divine protection.

“If God is fighting your battle, who then will be strong enough to stand against you?” he asked, encouraging congregants to purify themselves and remain steadfast in faith.
Turning to the Gospel reading in Matthew 9:32–34, Ogunmefun spoke on Jesus’ healing of the demon-possessed man who was mute. He encouraged Parishioners to trust in God’s power to restore what may have been silenced in their lives — whether faith, hope, purpose, or testimony.
He reminded the congregation that divine intervention can break every chain and silence every doubt, urging them not to surrender to life’s challenges.

The Shepherd-in-Charge of the parish, Assistant Venerable Superior Evangelist (AVSE) Amos Ojerinde, FCIB, also addressed the congregation, presenting updates on ongoing spiritual and Community outreach initiatives. He noted that the Parish has witnessed renewed enthusiasm and growth in its Evangelism and fellowship activities.
A special goodwill message from the Head of the Diocese, VSE Olaitan Balogun, was delivered during the service. In his message, Balogun commended the Parishioners for their dedication to spiritual growth and commitment to building a Christ-centered community.

“The Church thrives when her people stand firm in faith and walk together in unity,” the Diocesan Head stated, urging members to deepen their prayer life, remain generous in service, and bold in witness.
He further reminded them that giving up is not an option for followers of Christ, regardless of prevailing challenges, because of the glory that awaits believers.
The visit concluded with prayers for the parish leadership and the wider community. Parishioners expressed gratitude for what they described as a timely and impactful pastoral engagement.

Also speaking, the parish women’s leader, Mother Celestial Comfort Ojerinde, reaffirmed the commitment of the women’s wing to strengthening spiritual activities under the authority of the Shepherd-in-Charge. She pledged continued expansion of outreach programmes and sustained efforts to nurture the faith of members in the months ahead.
The Celestial Church of Christ, Columbus Cathedral, said the visit marked another milestone in its efforts to consolidate spiritual growth and unity within the USA National Diocese Region F.
