Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Sexual Abuse of Eight-Year-Old Daughter
Global Mirror News gathered that the Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old man over allegations of criminal intimidation, physical assault, and sexual abuse involving his eight-year-old biological daughter.
The development was confirmed in a statement released on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Nafiu Habib.
According to the Police, the incident was reported on December 31, 2025, at the Divisional Police Headquarters in Alkaleri.
Global Mirror News gathered that the complainant, identified as a close relative of the suspect, alleged that the incident occurred a day earlier when the suspect allegedly lured the minor into a private area of their residence and subjected her to repeated sexual abuse against her will.
Following the report, detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer in Alkaleri promptly visited the scene.
The victim was immediately taken to the General Hospital in Alkaleri for medical examination and care, while the suspect was taken into custody.
The Police spokesperson disclosed that during preliminary interrogation, the suspect allegedly admitted to the offence.
In response, the Commissioner of Police in Bauchi State, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department to undertake a thorough, discreet, and evidence-driven investigation into the case.

The suspect is expected to be formally charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Bauchi State Police Command reiterated its commitment to protecting vulnerable members of society, particularly children, and urged the public to promptly report cases of abuse or domestic violence to law enforcement authorities.
