Police Arrest 14 Suspected Traffic Robbers on Lekki–Epe Expressway
In a decisive move to clamp down on traffic-related crimes, the Lagos Police Command has apprehended 14 suspected traffic robbers at various locations along the busy Lekki–Epe Expressway over the past two weeks.
The Lagos Police spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the arrests via her X handle, @AbimbolaShotayo, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
She revealed that the suspects were detained by the command’s Tactical Squad, Elemoro, during sustained patrols and intelligence-led operations.
“The arrests are part of our ongoing efforts to curb traffic crimes and enhance the safety of motorists and other road users along this corridor,” SP Adebisi said.
She further noted that the development highlights the command’s strong commitment to improving security and maintaining law and order along the Lekki–Epe axis.
According to Adebisi, the Tactical Squad continues to proactively identify crime hotspots and respond swiftly to any threats posed by criminal elements.
She encouraged residents to support Police efforts by providing timely and useful information that can aid in crime prevention and detection.
“Security is a collective responsibility,” she stressed. “Members of the public are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station.”
Reassuring Lagos residents and commuters, SP Adebisi emphasized the command’s resolve to maintain aggressive patrols and operations to safeguard lives and property.
She reiterated the “See Something, Say Something” advisory as part of ongoing community policing efforts designed to strengthen collaboration between the Police and the public.
