Plateau Troops Hunt Gunmen Over Killing of Fulani Leader

Security operatives under Operation Enduring Peace have launched a manhunt for the gunmen behind the killing of Alhaji Bilyaminu Julde, a prominent Fulani community leader in Plateau State.

Global Mirror News gathered that the late community leader, who served as the Ardo of Gindir in the Gashish area of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, was attacked in his residence late on Friday night.

A security source disclosed that the incident happened at about 11:45 p.m. on March 28, 2026, after troops received reports of gunshots in the area.

According to the source, when security personnel arrived at the residence, they found that Alhaji Bilyaminu Julde had been shot by unidentified attackers, who escaped before troops reached the scene.

The source further revealed that two rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and 29 spent shells were recovered during preliminary investigations.

The remains of the deceased were later released to his family for burial in line with local customs.

Global Mirror News also gathered that security agencies have intensified patrols across the area while investigations continue to identify and arrest those responsible for the attack.
