Oyo State Governor Pays Tribute: Polytechnic Ibadan Renamed in Honor of Late Dr. Omololu Olunloyo

In a momentous declaration, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, announced the renaming of The Polytechnic, Ibadan to Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan, in tribute to the late Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a revered former governor of the state. This announcement was made on Thursday, June 26, 2025, during a grand Interdenominational Commendation Service held at the iconic Obafemi Awolowo Stadium in Ibadan, the State Capital.

Key Highlights of the Renaming:

  • New Name: The institution will henceforth be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.
  • Honoree: The late Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, who served as governor of old Oyo State.
