OOLG: AMB. OGUNSOLA HOSTS CP. OGUN STATE ON A COURTESY CALL, SEEKS COLLABORATIONS TO CLAMPS DOWN ON DRUG ABUSE, LAND GRABBING, AMONG OTHERS.

The Executive Chairman, Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA has received the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP. Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD in his office, Owode-Egba.

The Chairman expressed his pleasure, honour as the Chief Security Officer of the Local Government to discuss, shared responsibility towards the safety, security of lives and property across wards and villages of the council area.

He explained that Obafemi Owode Local Government shared boundaries with seven local governments with the proximity to Lagos and Oyo states. Which no doubt, portends insecurity for the local government.

Inspite of all challenges the local government has been able to enjoy a relative peace over the years due to the pro-activeness of security agencies by nipping in the bud the various insecurity activities in the council area.

He also commended the efforts of the Area Commander, Nigeria Police Force, Divisional Police Officers across Divisions in Obafemi Owode Local Government for working tirelessly, as he specifically appreciated the mass recruitments and deployments of Personnel of Ogun State Security Network, AMOTEKUN by His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, Governor, Ogun State to strengthen the security network of the state, and to complement the efforts of the Nigeria Police Force,.others sisters Security Agencies in curbing crimes.

Similarly, the council boss explained the serious challenges facing his led government on the activities of Land grabbers, Drug abuse and kidnapping as its posed a lot of threat to the safety and well-being of the people living the council area.

He stressed that land grabbing has become so rampant to the extent of encroaching into government landed properties, as he requested the Commissioner of Police to critically use his power within the ambit of law to rescue the local government from land grabbers by arresting and prosecuting anyone found culpable possessing the lands belonging to the government in the court of law.

” I want to appeal for your office to collaborate with us in addressing the issue of land grabbing, as we must ensure that land rights are respected and protected so that residents can live and work in peace and any land grabber apprehended by security agency must be charged to court accordingly to face the full wrath of the law”, equally stated.

In order to tackle insecurity challenges, Amb. Ogunsola stressed the need to deploy more police personnel to some porous axis in Obafemi Owode Local Government to complement officers already on ground so as to effectively curb insecurity challenges in the council area.

Furthermore, the attention of the Commissioner of Police, CP. Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD has been directed to some newly constructed Police Stations, Police Posts by the good people of the local government, as it will be appreciated if the Force Headquarters can use her influence in deploying personnel to these newly constructed Police Stations, Police Posts respectively.

In his response, CP. Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD appreciated the council boss on fast growing industries along Lagos/Abeokuta Express way, as the place was filled with Religious Centers while he commended the State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON as the Force Headquarters recently received Armoured Personnel Carriers(APC), which has since help in chasing out crime from the state.

While Obafemi Owode Local Government is the first and only local government visited since his assumption of office which is based on the leadership track records in all sectors.

He further responded to some of the request brought forward by the council boss on the menace of land grabbers, drug abuse and kidnapping as it is a national issue, which Police Force and other Security Agencies are seriously combating to a minimal.

CP. Ogunlowo, PhD assured of his support to Obafemi Owode Local Government on the unlawful activities of land grabbers, emphasized that anyone found culpable in unlawful possession of government landed property will be duely arrested and prosecuted in the Court of justice.

He further expressed that the deployments of more personnel will be thoroughly looked into, as he assured that the state and the local government will be considered as the Force Headquarters is expecting discharge of fresh constable officers from the college soon.
