One Dead, Two Injured in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Crash

A fatal road accident along the Mowe axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State has claimed the life of one person, while two others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Global Mirror News gathered that the crash involved a white Toyota Camry bearing registration number APP 688 JR and an unidentified truck. According to the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), three adults, one male and two females were involved in the incident.

TRACE spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi, confirmed that a female adult lost her life in the collision, while the remaining victims, one male and one female were rescued with injuries.

Further details obtained by Global Mirror News indicate that excessive speed on the part of the car driver led to the crash, as the vehicle reportedly rammed into a moving truck.

Emergency responders, including officials from TRACE, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Ogun State Ambulance Service (OGSAES), were swiftly deployed to the scene to carry out rescue operations.

The injured victims were evacuated to Famobis Hospital and Redeemed Hospital for medical treatment, while the deceased was deposited at the morgue of Redeemed Hospital.

Authorities have since towed the damaged vehicles to the Papal Oscar facility for further investigation as efforts continue to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
