OGUNSOLA DECLARES ZERO TOLERANCE ON LAND GRABBERS, DEMANDS STRICT MEASURES AGAINST DEFAULTERS
“I am ready to synergize with the Local Government to curb the activities of land grabbers in Obafemi Owode Local Government,” said the newly posted Area Commander, ACP Olayemi Oladele Jacob.

The Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, received ACP Jacob in his office in Owode-Egba on a courtesy visit. During the meeting, ACP Jacob pledged to work with the Chief Security Officer of the Local Government.
The Council Boss commended the dedication of Officers and men of the Nigerian Police Force, particularly the Divisional Police Officers in Mowe Division, Redeemed Camp Division, Wawa Division, Owode Division, and Ofada Division, for maintaining law and order across the Council Area.
He further enjoined ACP Jacob to gather more intelligence on land grabbers perpetrating their unlawful activities on Government-acquired lands. This was in response to recent reports of unscrupulous elements encroaching into Local Government quarters, claiming the land was sold to them without any proof.
The Council Boss explained that land grabbing is a grievous offense in Ogun State, as the Governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, has issued a circular letter warning anyone or group of persons, including traditional rulers, not to get involved in cases related to land grabbing, as the Government is the sole Authority on land matters in the State.
He, however, enjoined the newly posted Area Commander to be ready to dislodge any form of threat from land grabbers and other illicit activities in the Local Government Area. ACP Jacob assured the Council Boss of his readiness to work, stating that he is well familiar with the terrain.
ACP Jacob stressed that most of the DPOs serving in Obafemi Owode Local Government have worked together with him before he became the Area Commander. He pledged unalloyed loyalty to the Government in maintaining a crime-free Council Area and zero tolerance for any form of unrest, particularly the threat of land grabbers, in line with the directive and order of the Ogun State Government.
Appreciating the courtesy visit, Hon. Saheed Ariyibi, Leader of the Legislative Council, welcomed ACP Jacob to Obafemi Owode Local Government, wishing him success in his responsibilities to uphold order and peace in the council area.
In attendance at the meeting were Hon. Sobukonla Abiodun, Vice Chairman, Councillors, Supervisors, Head of Local Government Administration, Ms. Olufunke Adeniji, Directors, and Heads of Department.
