Ogun Sets January 28 as 2026 Hajj Deadline

The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB) has officially set January 28, 2026, as the final deadline for payments and registration for intending pilgrims wishing to perform the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia.

The board emphasized that this deadline is non-negotiable, urging all prospective pilgrims to comply to avoid being excluded from the sacred journey.

In a statement released by Ajibola Taiwo, the Executive Secretary of OGMPWB, the board confirmed that the 2026 Hajj fare has been fixed at ₦7,991,500.

The amount covers flights, accommodation, and other associated services for pilgrims traveling from Ogun State.

Taiwo urged pilgrims to make prompt payments to guarantee their participation and avoid last-minute complications.

The board also detailed the registration and processing fees, which include:
Application Form: ₦20,050
Screening Form: ₦2,550
Medical Fitness Certificate: ₦2,550
Medical Screening: ₦20,050
This brings the total registration cost per pilgrim to ₦45,200.

The OGMPWB urged pilgrims to collect and complete all necessary forms ahead of the January 28 deadline, noting that failure to comply would disqualify applicants from boarding.

Mr. Taiwo further advised intending pilgrims to visit the board’s office at Oke‑Mosan, Abeokuta for guidance and support with the registration process.

He highlighted that all applicants must also comply with Saudi Arabia’s health and travel regulations as stipulated by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

This move aligns with nationwide efforts by NAHCON and various state Hajj boards to streamline preparations for the 2026 pilgrimage.

Early registration and payment are being encouraged across states to ensure smooth coordination with Saudi authorities and to secure the required quotas for Nigerian pilgrims.
