Ogun Postpones Tinubu’s Visit to April 4, 2026, Announces New Date for Project Commissioning

The Ogun State Government on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, announced the postponement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s planned visit to the State earlier scheduled for this week.

Global Mirror News gathered that the President was expected to visit Ogun State to Commission a number of key projects executed by the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, the Ogun State Government said the Presidential visit was rescheduled due to exigencies of office.

According to the statement, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will now visit Ogun State on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

“The Ogun State Government wishes to inform the general public that, due to exigencies of office, the visit of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to Ogun State has been rescheduled to Saturday, April 4, 2026,” the statement read.

The Government also expressed regret over the change in schedule and appealed for public understanding.

“The Government regrets any inconvenience this change in schedule may have caused and solicits the understanding and continued cooperation of all stakeholders and members of the public,” the statement added.

The notice was signed by Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, Secretary to the State Government, Abeokuta.

The Government explained that a new date for the visit and the commissioning ceremonies would be communicated to the public in due course.

Among the projects expected to be inaugurated during the President’s visit are major road projects, public infrastructure and other development initiatives completed by the Ogun State Government.

The State Government appealed to residents, invited guests and stakeholders to take note of the development, assuring them that all arrangements already put in place would remain valid once a fresh date is announced.

Governor Dapo Abiodun expressed appreciation to residents and supporters for their understanding, noting that the State remains committed to showcasing the projects aimed at improving infrastructure and boosting economic development across Ogun.

Global Mirror News reports that the postponed visit had generated considerable anticipation among residents and political stakeholders across the State.
