Ogun NUJ Celebrates Abeokuta South LG Chairman, Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez, on Birthday
The Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has congratulated the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a grassroots-focused leader committed to responsive governance.
In a congratulatory message signed by the Chairman of the council, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, and the Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, the Union said the Birthday celebration provides an opportunity to acknowledge the Council Chairman’s contributions to development and inclusive leadership in Abeokuta South.
According to the NUJ, Hon. Afeez’s tenure has been marked by people-oriented policies and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of residents, while also fostering unity within the Local Government Areas.
The Union noted that the Chairman has earned wide respect across political and professional divides through his dedication to development-driven governance and his commitment to serving the interests of the people at the grassroots.
The Ogun NUJ also commended the cordial relationship between the Media and the Abeokuta South Local Government under Hon. Afeez’s leadership, describing it as one built on mutual respect and understanding.
It added that his consistent support for press freedom and constructive engagement with journalists has enhanced transparency, accountability, and informed public discourse within the Local Government.
“As he marks another year, we wish Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez sound health, renewed strength and greater wisdom to continue serving humanity and the people of Abeokuta South with excellence,” the statement read.
The Union further expressed optimism that the years ahead would bring the Council Chairman continued success, fulfillment and a lasting positive impact on governance and development in the Area.
