Ogun Exco Approves Seven Road Projects, Renames Secretariat Complex “Revenue House,” Confirms Traditional Rulers

The Ogun State Executive Council has approved seven key road projects and the reconstruction of a major office complex, alongside the confirmation of several traditional rulers, as part of efforts to deepen infrastructure development and strengthen grassroots governance.

The approvals were granted during the State Executive Council meeting held on Friday at the Executive Chamber, presided over by Governor Dapo Abiodun.

Seven Road Projects Across Senatorial Districts

Council ratified the rehabilitation and construction of seven roads strategically located across the three senatorial districts of the state to enhance connectivity and stimulate socio-economic growth.

The approved projects include:

Molipa Expressway Roundabout to Ibadan Garage via Ejirin–Folagbade Roundabout, Ijebu-Ode – 2.3 kilometres, 10.3 metres wide

Bible College Road, Ota (Ado-Odo/Ota LGA) – additional rehabilitation works

Ajaka Road via Awolowo Market, Sagamu – 870 metres, 8 metres wide

Gbadebo Street, Hospital Road, Ayegbami, Sagamu – 900 metres, 8 metres wide

Okenla Street, off Imoru Road, Ijebu-Ode – 0.53 kilometres, 10 metres wide

Yemogun Street, Ogere, Ikenne LGA – 1.25 kilometres, 7.3 metres wide

Right-hand side of Carwash–Moore Junction Road, Adatan, Abeokuta – reconstruction

The projects are expected to ease traffic congestion, improve mobility, and unlock economic opportunities for residents and businesses across benefiting communities.

Secretariat Complex Renamed “Revenue House”

In addition to the road projects, Council approved the reconstruction and completion of the Block E Office Complex at the State Secretariat, Oke Imosan, Abeokuta (Phase 1).

The complex has been redesignated as “Revenue House”, reflecting its intended role as a central hub for revenue-related agencies. The facility is designed to provide a modern and efficient working environment aimed at strengthening internally generated revenue and enhancing inter-agency operational performance.

The initiative aligns with the Abiodun administration’s broader public sector reform agenda focused on infrastructure modernisation and fiscal sustainability.

Confirmation of Traditional Rulers

As part of measures to reinforce traditional institutions and grassroots governance, the Council confirmed the following appointments:

Prince Raheem Afolabi Ogunlaja – Nloku of Iraye, Remo North LGA

Prince Tajudeen Adeoye Olukunle – Onisale of Isale, Gbokoto, Yewa North LGA

Prince Obajimi Sunday Olatunji – Alodo of Ado, Sagamu
