NIPR Ogun Chapter Hosts Groundbreaking Workshop on Navigating the Digital Storm: Mastering Crisis Communication and Reputation Management

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) Ogun State Chapter has organized a two-day workshop with the theme “Navigating the Digital Storm: Mastering Crucial Communication and Reputation Management”. The workshop, held on August 7-8, 2025, at the Event Towers Kuto, Abeokuta, aimed to enhance service delivery for Public Relations Professionals across the Public and Private Sectors in the State.

This pioneering workshop marks a significant milestone for NIPR in Ogun State, demonstrating the Institute’s commitment to promoting excellence in Public Relations and Communication. The event was declared open by the State Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, mnipr, who emphasized the importance of quality service delivery in governance and organizational success, as well as communicating with knowledge and accountability in the digital age.

Mr. Onasanya emphasized that the digital revolution has transformed not only how we communicate but also how Institutions, both Public and Private, are perceived. He urged participants to leverage the workshop to sharpen their skills and adopt best practices in Public Relations and Communication.

he State Head of Service was represented by Mr. Jola Oyeneye, mni, Permanent Secretary of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, who reiterated the importance of the workshop in enhancing service delivery.

The Permanent Secretary of Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Engr. Olanike Ogunbona, FNSE, highlighted the significance of learning in a digital world, stating, “We are all here to learn, unlearn, and relearn to improve in this digital era.” She encouraged participants to engage fully in the workshop, making it more participatory and contributing meaningfully to the discussions.

Meanwhile, in her welcome speech, the Chairperson of the Ogun State NIPR, Mrs. Oluwaseun Boye, mnipr, warmly welcomed over 60 registered participants to the first-of-its-kind training for Image Makers in Ogun State. She commended the Planning Committee for their dedication in organizing the workshop and appreciated the Ogun State Local Government Service, Dangote Cement, and other sponsors for their generous support.

The workshop featured expert-led sessions on Crisis Management, Risk Assessment, Media and Digital Crisis Response, and other critical topics. Participants had the opportunity to engage with industry experts, share knowledge, and learn best practices in Public Relations and Communication.

The workshop is a significant step towards enhancing service delivery in Ogun State. By equipping Public Relations Professionals with contemporary strategies and skills, the NIPR Ogun Chapter is promoting excellence in governance and organizational success.
