National Forum of Former LG Vice Chairmen Appoints New National, Zonal, State Officers

In a strategic move aimed at strengthening its national structure and deepening grassroots engagement, the National Forum of Former Local Government Council Vice Chairmen of Nigeria has announced the appointment of new National, Zonal, and State Officers across the Country

The appointments, which take immediate effect, reflect the deliberate and inclusive leadership drive of the National Coordinator, Hon. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel, whose ongoing efforts are focused on repositioning the forum as a cohesive and influential platform for former local government leaders nationwide.

According to a statement jointly signed by the National Coordinator and the National Secretary, Hon. Muktar Dahiru Gora, the newly appointed officers were carefully selected based on experience, regional balance, and proven commitment to grassroots governance and national development.

Among the notable appointments is Hon. Ishaq Olanrewaju Bada, former Vice Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, who has been named Coordinator for the South West Zone.

His appointment is widely seen as a boost to the forum’s South West operations, given his strong background in local governance, community development, and political mobilisation within the region.

Hon. Bada is expected to play a key role in coordinating activities across the South West states, fostering unity among members, and advancing the forum’s objectives at both regional and national levels.

Other National Officers appointed include:
Hon. Musa Ahmed Agbawu as National Publicity Secretary
Hon. Gbolasire Abigail as Deputy National Secretary
Hon. Sandra A. Onyia as National Welfare Secretary
Hon. Princess Peace Nwobilo as National Organising Secretary
Hon. Mahadiya Abdullahi as Deputy National Organising Secretary
Hon. Aliyu Aminu Ikara as National Legal Adviser I
Hon. Mamuda Muhammad Gyalgyal as National Auditor
Hon. Ishak Tanko Gambaga as National Mobilisation Officer II
Zonal coordinators were also announced to ensure effective regional coordination, with representatives drawn from all six geopolitical zones.

In addition, State Coordinators were appointed across several States, underscoring the forum’s commitment to strong state-level presence and inclusive participation.

Speaking on the development, Hon. Godstime Chukwubuikem Samuel reiterated that the appointments are part of a broader reform agenda aimed at enhancing internal coordination, policy engagement, and strategic relevance of former vice chairmen in Nigeria’s democratic process.

He assured members that more appointments would be announced in due course, as consultations and structural expansion continue.

The forum reaffirmed its commitment to unity, service, and constructive engagement with Government and stakeholders at all levels, as it continues to consolidate its role as a key voice of former Local Government leaders in Nigeria.
