Midnight Rage Over Failed Business Deal Leaves Two Dead, Three Fighting for Their Lives in Ogun

What began as a disagreement over a failed business transaction turned deadly in the Lambe area of Ogun State after a 25-year-old man allegedly launched a violent knife attack on five men, killing two of them and injuring three others.

The suspect, identified by Police as Abubakar Musa, reportedly carried out the attack at about 1:38 a.m. on Tuesday April 7, in the Lambe Community under the Ajuwon Division of the Ogun State Police Command.

Global Mirror News gathered that Musa had been involved in a business arrangement with some of the victims, but the deal reportedly collapsed, leading to a heated argument in the middle of the night. Witnesses said the dispute quickly escalated as the suspect became enraged and suddenly pulled out a knife.

According to sources, the victims had tried to calm him and stop the confrontation from getting out of hand. Instead, Musa allegedly turned on them and stabbed all five men during the chaos.

Global Mirror News learnt that the victims were identified as Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, Chinedu, 40, Mohammed Abubakar, 35, Ashiru Adamu, 25, and Paul Lawrence, 25.

Two of the victims, Gbadamasi Ibrahim and Chinedu sustained severe injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital. They were later confirmed dead by Doctors while receiving treatment. Mohammed Abubakar, Ashiru Adamu and Paul Lawrence survived the attack and are currently undergoing treatment for injuries sustained during the incident.

Residents of the Area were thrown into panic following the attack, with some reportedly fleeing their homes after hearing screams and seeing the injured victims lying in pools of blood outside the building where the incident occurred.

After carrying out the attack, the suspect reportedly fled the scene in an attempt to escape arrest. However, detectives attached to the Ajuwon Division later tracked him down and arrested him.

Global Mirror News further gathered that the Ogun State Police Command has transferred the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Police spokesperson Oluseyi Babaseyi said the command condemned the incident and urged residents to avoid resorting to violence during disputes, no matter how tense the situation may become. He also appealed to members of the public to promptly report suspicious behaviour and threats before they escalated into tragedy.
