MAPOLY/NACP ’99 SET INAUGURATES NEW EXECUTIVE, CALLS FOR UNITY AND GREATER IMPACT

The Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Accountancy Students Alumni of 99 set (MAPOLY/NACP ’99 Set) has inaugurated its newly elected executive officers for the 2026–2028 tenure, with a renewed commitment to unity, service, and impactful contributions to their alma mater and society at large.

The colourful inauguration ceremony, which attracted distinguished guests, alumni members, and well-wishers, marked a significant milestone in the association’s journey of strengthening alumni engagement and promoting excellence among its members.

Welcoming guests to the event, the Chairperson of the Inaugural Committee, Mrs. Folasade Salami, expressed delight at the impressive turnout and emphasized the importance of the occasion. She described the ceremony as not only the beginning of a new administration but also the continuation of a journey built on dedication, service, and a shared commitment to excellence.

She noted that leadership goes beyond occupying positions, stressing that true leadership is defined by service, sacrifice, and commitment to the progress of the association. The committee Chairperson also appreciated past leaders for their dedication and contributions, stating that their efforts had laid a strong foundation for the association’s continued growth.

The highlight of the ceremony was the keynote address delivered by Dr. Lukmon Osho, Head of Department, Accountancy Department, Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, who spoke extensively on the theme of alumni identity and the responsibility of alumni members to contribute meaningfully to their alma mater and society.

In his address, Dr. Osho emphasized the power of alumni identity, urging members to remain proud ambassadors of their institution and to leverage their collective experiences and achievements for the advancement of the association and the school community.

Speaking on “Rising Higher: The Pursuit of Excellence,” he encouraged members to continuously strive for excellence in their professional and personal endeavors, noting that the reputation of the institution is largely shaped by the achievements of its alumni.

Dr. Osho further charged members to “go further by expanding their impact,” calling on them to look beyond individual success and work collectively towards initiatives that will benefit their alma mater and the wider community.

He also highlighted the importance of unity and collaboration among alumni, stressing that collective effort remains the greatest strength of any association. According to him, when alumni come together with a shared vision, they can achieve far more than they could individually.

Describing the alumni body as a vital force for community transformation, Dr. Osho issued a call to purpose and community development, urging members to channel their resources, knowledge, and networks towards initiatives that will positively influence society.

Looking ahead, he expressed optimism about the future of the association, stating that the alumni community possesses the capacity and leadership required to build a stronger and more impactful future. He summarized his message with the inspiring call: “Rising higher, further together.”

In her acceptance speech, the newly inaugurated President, Mrs. Anne Folarin, expressed profound gratitude to members for the confidence reposed in her leadership. She described her election as both an honour and a responsibility, pledging to lead with integrity, empathy, and dedication.

Folarin noted that the election was not about winning or losing but about strengthening unity within the association. She emphasized that leadership in the alumni body must be anchored on service, teamwork, and accountability.

She further pledged that her administration would focus on strengthening unity among members, supporting the institution and its students, empowering alumni through meaningful programmes, and upholding the values and legacy of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.

Calling on members to support the new administration, she urged all alumni to work together as one united family, driven by their shared love for their alma mater and commitment to excellence.

The inauguration ceremony ended on a note of optimism, with members expressing confidence that the new leadership will reposition the association for greater relevance and impact in the coming years.

The MAPOLY/NACP ’99 Set remains one of the active alumni groups of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, committed to promoting professional development, alumni engagement, and community advancement.
