Authorities say he then turned his weapon on their two daughters, six-year-old Natalia Nyambura and four-year-old Tyra Jones, slitting their throats while they slept.

Since the incident, detectives have launched a massive manhunt for Odero, who is believed to have fled the area shortly after the killings.

The DCI has since released his photograph to the public, urging anyone with useful information to report to the nearest Police Station or reach out through the agency’s emergency hotlines and WhatsApp numbers.

“We are pursuing all leads and calling on anyone who may have seen or communicated with the suspect to come forward,” the DCI said in a statement on Wednesday, 8th October, 2025.

Despite days of coordinated operations across Samburu, Laikipia, and Baringo counties, police say the suspect’s whereabouts remain unknown.

Investigators are also probing possible hideouts and whether he received help escaping.

No motive has yet been officially confirmed, but investigators suspect domestic conflict and alcohol influence may have triggered the attack.

The victims’ bodies were taken to the Samburu County Referral Hospital morgue, where autopsies are expected to provide further details.

As the manhunt continues, Kenyan authorities have assured the public that no effort will be spared in bringing the suspect to justice.

“This is a heinous act that cannot go unpunished,” said a senior officer familiar with the case. “We will find him, no matter how long it takes.”
