LGSC Official Tour: Ms. Onabanjo receives a warm welcome amidst fanfare in Ogun Waterside Local Government

The Chairman of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Abeokuta, Ms. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, was treated to a warm reception as the train visited the Ogun Waterside Local Government Secretariat in Abigi yesterday, in continuation of the official tour of the Twenty {20} Local Governments of Ogun State, which started recently.
Ms. Onabanjo appreciated the kind of reception given to her and her team, noting that it would linger in their memories. Answering questions posted by the staff on punctuality, neatness, absenteeism, and other topics, she emphasized that members should reciprocate the kind gesture of the State Government which has been working assiduously to ensure that salaries are paid as at when due.

The official visit of the Commission brings about having three different meetings with the stakeholders such as, engagement with the Executive Chairman, Hon. Odunnoiki Adetoye AbdulGaniyu, and other Political Office Holders, on one hand, the HOLGA, Elder Odusoga Olalekan Monsuru, and the Directors/Heads of Department on the other where it was reiterated that they must invest in capacity building for their staff as well as meeting with the General Staff of the Local Government in that order in a bid to have a common position for the betterment of all.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Olanike Olawunmi Ogunbona {FNSE} stressed that the visit is aims at assessing the Local Government’s progress, identifying areas for improvement, and providing guidance on the best practices by engaging with the stakeholders. She reminded the staff of the need to be proactive in their dealings, assuring them that better days are ahead for the service.

Speaking earlier, the Head of Local Government Administration, Elder Odusoga Olalekan Monsuru, welcomed the August visitors and appreciated them for the tour, which is going to bring about a positive impact not only on the staff but on the entire Local Government.

He also used the medium to appreciate His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, for his developmental efforts in the nooks and crannies of the State, as well as towards the prompt payment of salaries and allowances for the workforce.

The NULGE Chairman, Ogun Waterside Local Government Branch, Comrade Abayomi Adefowora, thanked the Commission for the visit while pledging unflinching support on behalf of the Staffers to all the policies and programmes of the Commission at all times.
