Iwobi Earns Spot on 2026 Football Black List for Community Impact

Alex Iwobi has been recognised in the 2026 Football Black List, a prestigious initiative celebrating the most influential Black figures shaping football in the United Kingdom.
Global Mirror News gathered that the Fulham FC midfielder was honoured not just for his performances on the pitch, but for his growing influence off it—particularly through his Project 17 initiative, which focuses on youth empowerment and grassroots community development.
Backed by the Premier League, the Football Black List recognises individuals of African and Caribbean heritage who are making meaningful contributions to football and inspiring the next generation.
The initiative, founded in 2008 by Leon Mann and Rodney Hinds, continues to spotlight changemakers across various areas of the sport, including players, coaches, and administrators.
Iwobi, a former Arsenal FC star, will be formally honoured alongside other recipients at a ceremony scheduled to take place in Westminster on April 14.
Meanwhile, Global Mirror News reports that the Super Eagles midfielder is currently in camp with the Nigerian national team ahead of upcoming international friendlies against Iran and Jordan.
