Hon. Balogun Consoles LGSC’s Chairman as the Onabanjo’s Matriarch Bows Out at 100
The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Olaniyi Afeez Balogun, on behalf of the Executive and Legislative Councils, the Management and the entire staff of the Local Government, has extended heartfelt condolences to the Chairman of the Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, Ms. Olivia Olubukunola Onabanjo, and the entire Onabanjo Dynasty on the passing of their revered matriarch, Chief (Mrs.) Lucia Onabowale Onabanjo.
The news of Mama’s transition was received with deep sorrow, but also with gratitude to Almighty God for a life that was richly fulfilled and divinely blessed.
She peacefully slept in the Lord on Monday, 12th January 2026, at the remarkable age of 100 years, a testament to grace, strength, and a life well spent.
Chief (Mrs.) Lucia Onabowale Onabanjo was a woman of rare virtue, deep wisdom, and enduring compassion.

Her life left an indelible mark on her family and on all who were privileged to know her.
Her admirable values, moral uprightness, and nurturing spirit are clearly reflected in the exemplary lives and public service of her children.
Although her departure has created a great void, Abeokuta South Local Government takes comfort in the enduring legacy she leaves behind and the assurance that she lived a purposeful and impactful life worthy of celebration.
Her memory will continue to inspire generations within and beyond the Onabanjo family.
Hon. Balogun prayed that Almighty God will grant Aunty ‘Bukunola Onabanjo, the Onabanjo family and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, and that Mama’s gentle soul will rest eternally in the bosom of the Lord.
