Hon. Balogun Celebrates Alake, Hails Monarch’s Leadership at Lisabi Festival

The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Olaniyi Afeez Balogun, has extended warm congratulations to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Michael Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the Okukenu IV, on the celebration of this year’s Lisabi Festival.
In a goodwill message made available to Global Mirror News, Balogun, speaking on behalf of the people of Abeokuta South Local Government, praised the revered monarch for his visionary leadership, dedication to the preservation of Egba culture, and commitment to peace and development across Egbaland.
The Chairman described the Lisabi Festival as a historic and cultural event that celebrates the bravery and legacy of Lisabi Agbongbo-Akala, the legendary Egba hero who led the Egba people in their struggle for freedom. He noted that the annual festival continues to serve as a reminder of the unity, courage, and cultural pride that define the Egba people.
Hon. Balogun stated that the Alake has continued to play a crucial role in fostering unity among the people while also supporting developmental efforts that uplift communities across Egbaland.
“On behalf of the good people of Abeokuta South Local Government, I heartily felicitate with our royal father, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, on the occasion of this 39th Lisabi Festival. Your reign has continued to promote peace, unity, and progress in our land,” he said.
The Chairman further commended the monarch for his fatherly role in guiding the people and preserving the rich traditions of the Egba kingdom.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting cultural activities and traditional institutions that strengthen community identity and promote tourism in Abeokuta and Ogun State as a whole.
Balogun concluded by wishing the Alake continued wisdom, good health, and a long, peaceful reign on the throne of his forefathers.
